Unfortunately, spam/junk emails are a very common issue, no matter which industry you are working within. Many email clients, such as Outlook, have built-in spam/junk filters which help to prevent most of these types of emails from coming through.
Our servers can also help to prevent junk coming through - however, by changing the "levels" of the junk filters, many emails that actually aren't junk may be incorrectly filtered. This can be a big issue, as it means that you may lose new business and enquiries. With this in mind, we do not recommend going past the medium "level" on our server.
Within professional email clients, whilst selecting which emails are junk, your software will start to "learn" which emails are junk and which emails are safe.
As a summary, please see the bullet point list below on points to help reduce the amount of junk emails coming through:
- Purchase professional email client software, such as Outlook
- Increase the junk mail filters within the email client
- Contact us to increase the server's junk mail filters*
- Mark each junk mail as spam individually, and give your email client time to "learn" which types of emails are spam and which are safe
